Same procedure as every year - so it was said again this year "at the London Film and Comic Con. As already In recent years, our journey took place on Friday in the daytime yet comfortable shopping in the city and to visit some tourist attractions. This time we brought our Geochachingtour past the Tower and London Bridge, down to the London court and through the neighborhood banker. Later, we indulged in our shopping pleasure in the HVM, a local electrical wholesale market in order to provide us with all sorts of DVDs, BluRays, books and video games. After all the entertainment products in London are often much cheaper than in Germany.
In the evening we met at our head-Italian for dinner with other friends who I met in part only once a year in London. It was, as almost always, a big round of talks on the convention, expectations and hopes, and the proud presentation of the acquired bargain. After a nightcap in the hotel bar we went to bed around midnight.
is on Saturday in the crack of dawn to get up and queue it - because, despite our early bird tickets you're well off, grab a front place in line. This ensures we are a low number in the respective autograph snakes, are home to crowds of up to 5,000 fans. When we arrived around 7:30 clock in the hall, there were already 300 people long queue. Reminder - Doors open at 9 clock. Similarly, to be a second blow for visitors from 11 clock wanted to buy a ticket.
me for the autograph and photo session program this year was very straightforward, as only Katee Sackhoff, Ben Browder and William Shatner were on my wish list. However, I also wanted a look at Kristanna Loken (from Terminator 3), Edi Gathegi (Twilight 1 + 2) throw, and the former boxing champion Mike Tyson, the First of all times attended an event to sign autographs and have their pictures taken with fans.
On autograph table of Katee Sackhoff, Starbuck actress from Battlestar Galactica, we were warmly welcomed and we had time for a little small talk about the World Cup match Germany - Spain, because their friend is a Spaniard, she was naturally very pleased about the outcome. With her autograph on my poster I lack crew so only the autograph of Tricia Helfer. Hopefully, I must point out not all wait too long. ;)
at the table by Ben Browder, the Col. Mitchell from Stargate SG1 actor, it went from very quiet. The good man had increased his series role against something that the grinning girls had apparently does not matter. So I had to get my two autographs, and I could devote the countless traders stalls in the hall. There was really ALL of series, movies and comic references that desires the SciFi heart. In addition, there was a HUGE Nintendo booth with new games and company COMIC ALLEY DC.

were noon then our photo sessions with Kate, Ben and William Shatner on the daily program. Like all the fans are lined up in the beating and waited patiently for 10 seconds in the arm of her stars. For the photo shoot with Kate I had brought my Zylonenfigur that Katee then bravely took the same in the hand and kept smiling at the camera. With Ben Browder you were warmly hugged and William Shatner, I was excited - finally a photo with Captain Kirk.
After the doors of the convention had closed at 18 clock, we took a stroll through central London, passing Piccadilly Circus to the china town in order thoroughly to eat dinner. The first time in my life I tasted Chinese Spareribs - delicious, but to eat unusual because the ribs were very small and thus not easily perceived. At the end of Saturday we went another in a local pub and enjoyed the local beer.
On Sunday was the convention for me then of much interest, since it apart from the question time with Katee Sackhoff no other program items were on my plan. The question and answer session was very interesting because Katee very openly about their experiences in Battle Star said, but also about its role in rejections True Blood and NCIS. She seemed very friendly and open and it was no joke for too bad.
After the convention came to an end, we went again on Chachingtour. It was a tour Alien 12 points on the plan. It had to Aliens placed in concrete walls of buildings that had to be found. They had found one of the Alien, we had certain tasks and solve puzzles to get the coordinates for the alien nest. Sorry, we did not find any aliens, so that the all nest was hidden. However, we had lots of fun and learned about doing some new corners of London.
On Monday morning we spent in Forbidden Planet. This is a SciFi shop in central London, who offer their very best - from T-shirts and comics books, action figures, posters to rare items for display. In the evening of the trip was to Berlin and went to a wonderful weekend in London unfortunately too late.
